Abstract

The article presents a picture of the agrarian question in Bolivia,which is key to understanding the political disputes that occur in the currentBolivia that develops the government Evo Morales. He starts dealing withtwo major themes of the history of this country: the legacy of the IncaEmpire; and the 1952 Revolution and its land reform process. This AgrarianReform occurred in the region of the Bolivian plateau and attendedrevindication of the peasant masses of the region and at the same time,kicked off the advance of agro-export landowners in the region of SantaCruz de La Sierra (called Lowlands), where the expansion occurred the 2014commodity agriculture. These historical elements are fundamental tounderstand the current disputes that occur between the main political forcesin contention in the political and economic environment: the peasant-indigenous-originating organizations, and the export sector of commodities,mainly gas and soybeans.
