Potentiality of tools for the qualification of rural extension for rural settlements

Abstract
The article aims to analyze the potential of work tools for the improvement of rural extension services aimed at agrarian reform settlements. Regarding the method, the research qualifies as being: qualitative, descriptive, with documentary support and field research. The work is the result of a partnership between the Federal University of Pampa - Campus Itaqui and the Federal University of Santa Maria. Through the research groups GIEDER from UNIPAMPA and NEP Terra from UFSM, field actions were carried out during the year 2022 in settlements located in the municipality of Santana do Livramento. With that, the development of extension tools that can be adopted by the Technical Assistance and Rural Extension (ATER) policy was resumed. These tools were the ATES Integrated Rural Management System (SIGRA), the economic analysis of Pedagogical Observation Units (UOP) and the Systematization of Experience. They showed the potential to improve ATER services for the settlements, this for the practice of data collection and systematization, the historical and reflective reconstitution of the experiences of development of the settlements and the economic analysis of the productive units that represent the grouped families by production systems.
