Agricultura Familiar: um estudo de caso dos aspectos sociais e de produção do Assentamento Ipê Amarelo - Wanderlândia - Tocantins – Brasil
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study sought to understand the trajectories and conceptions of family farmers from the Ipê Amarelo settlement in Wanderlândia - TO, about their experiences and practices with production management and ways of interacting with the market. The present research aimed to identify which are the factors of production and social organization that contribute to the production and distribution of food, as well as the increase in the income of producers. This is a case study, with a qualitative research approach and semi-structured interviews and direct observation were used. The results of the study point to difficulties in the product distribution process due to the precariousness of the access road to the settlement and the unavailability of machinery for the maintenance services of the road. Even in this difficult scenario, the study showed that the food security, the local culture, the associative organization in the settlement, the quality of the food, the way of working among the members of the family nucleus and the public policies for the rural environment of the municipality resulted in the improvement of the quality of life of the producers and in the increase of family income.
