The Globalized Socioterritorial Technologies of Agroecology: From Agrarian Reform Plots in Brazil to Portugal
Main Article Content
Abstract
The article presents the main results of the doctoral research internship at the University of Lisbon, offering a comparative study of the socioterritorial technologies of agroecology identified in the field, highlighting the distintos and similarities between agroecological territories in Brazil and Portugal. To this end, the theory of socioterritorial movements became seminal, providing elements for investigating peasant territories, from the organization of agrarian reform settlement plots arranged by Movimento dos Trabalhadores Rurais Sem Terra MST) to peasant resistance territories in Portugal. The main result observed is the presence of socioterritorial technologies of agroecology in both territories, such as Community-Supported Agriculture (CSA), agroforestry, intercropping, and popular education. This allows us to reflect on the globalization of these resistances and a contest over development models.
