Associativism and Organization of Production in Rural Settlements: Social Resistance and Public Policies Applied to Agrarian Reform

Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to study the organization of production as well as the associativism in two settlements located in President Venceslau town, in the State of São Paulo, in Pontal do Paranapanema region. It is investigated the economic flow of Primavera and Tupanciretan settlements, considering the settled workers' productive performance. It attempts to analyze this variable in conjunction with the associativism, bearing in mind a strategy used by the settled individuals to fight for their stability in the land. Some agrarian reform settlements had adopted the associativism as an organizational and management system of production under workers' control. In this research, a connection between associativism and settlement output is verified.
