A Trajetória da Cana no Assentamento Monte Alegre

Abstract
Este artigo é parte reflexiva de minha dissertação de mestrado (Stetter,2000) entregue ao Programa de Pós-graduação em Sociologia, FCL/UNESP/Araraquara, sob a orientação da Profa. Dra. Vera Lúcia Silveira Botta Ferrante, e fruto de minha experiência como membro do grupo de pesquisa (NUPEDOR/FCL/UNESP) que acompanha o movimento de reforma agrária desde a implantação de dois núcleos de assentamentos rurais na região de Araraquara: a fazenda Monte Alegre (1985) composta por 6 núcleos e 382 famílias, localizada entre os municípios de Motuca, Araraquara e o distrito de Bueno de Andrade e cuja administração está sob a responsabilidade da Prefeitura Municipal de Motuca e 1 núcleo sob a responsabilidade da Prefeitura de Araraquara. E o Assentamento da Fazenda Bela Vista do Chibarro (1989) com 176 famílias, 45 km próximo de Araraquara administrado pela Prefeitura de Araraquara.
